UNC asks about Khamal Georges 'move to Amplia'
Couva South MP Rudranath Indarsingh is calling on the Prime Minister, Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales, and TSTT CEO Lisa Agard, to disclose how former CNC3 editor Khamal Georges moved to the boardroom of Amplia.
Georges announced that he was leaving CNC3 on Friday.
On Saturday, without providing proof, Communication Workers’ Union leader Clyde Elder claimed that Georges was hired by Amplia Communications, which is owned by TSTT, at a significantly higher salary.
Speaking at the UNC’s weekly media conference on Sunday at the Opposition Leader’s office in Port of Spain, Indarsingh asked where and when the vacancy at Amplia was announced.
“We understand that Georges was hired to do the same job as a recently retrenched worker who was earning 25,000 a month, but he will be earning $75,000 a month.
