Born on April 22, 1987, Thembeka attended Ferndale Combined School where she took full advantage of a variety of interests that tested and showcased her abilities. She participated in debating, drama, arts, and athletics.

A highlight of Thembeka’s very industrious time in school was her selection as a leader of all the KZN school teams that participated in a British government-sponsored campaign called “The Dreams & Teams” in 2003.

Growing up in the modest surroundings of KwaMashu in the 1980’s, Thembeka, faced “a life with limitations” which made her to strive for a better life.

Husband/Family

She’s a mother of three children and got married to her husband Bongani Cele in 2018.
